Moisturizer and Hand Cream Class

BROCKTON PUBLIC LIBRARY, Brockton, MA

Is your skin dry from the cold of winter or the summer sun? Learn to make herbal moisturizers and face creams. Custom-blend your own product with oils and scents of your choice. We'll go over properties that help dry skin, wrinkles, and redness. Creating moisturizers will be demonstrated. Take-home recipes, tips for successful moisturizer making, and a sample of the cream made in class will be available!

PICKLING: THE TRADITIONAL, EASY, PROBIOTIC METHOD

BEVERLY PUBLIC LIBRARY, Beverly, MA

Old fashioned deli pickles can’t be beat. They are easy to make, full of flavor and health promoting probiotics. Ditch the heat and work of water bath canning. Learn to make fermented vegetables including dill pickles and other seasonal vegetables. In the fall sauerkraut can be the featured vegetable. There will be a short discussion on the benefits of fermented foods. Taste dill pickles and other ferments. Take home instructions on dry salt fermenting and brining.

wildflower plant walks

Please join me this spring for hikes exploring the plants of the woods and fields.  Take time to appreciate the beauty of New England while learning to identify key plants. Learn medicinal uses, interesting facts and ways to prepare wild edibles.  We will be hiking the trails of Beaver Brook in Hollis , NH.  Every week week you will experience new buds and blooms.

It's a special time of year to enjoy our NH state flower - the Lilac. Join two of our knowledgeable Educators/ Naturalists for a guided walk around Beaver Brook's Shoen Meadow to see and smell the amazing Lilacs. 

This spot is filled with rich history and beauty and is surrounded by fragrant Lilacs. Learn about what lay on the land years ago and Lilacs- uses and remedies.

The educator will email you details on the location and meeting spot before the class begins.

Identify the plants growing on your property, learn interesting facts about their lifecycles and any food or medicinal uses they might have. I’ll put together an information packet and recipes specifically for what you have at home.

A women’s wellness day

Step into the serenity of the forest for a rejuvenating women’s wellness experience at Beaver Brook. This immersive day is designed to nurture your connection to nature through mindful exploration, hands-on learning, and shared nourishment.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Wild edible walk discover the gifts of the land and savor nature’s flavors

  • Foraged feast Prepare and enjoy a delicious, nature-inspired meal (includes a hearty soup and bread)

  • Guided forest mindfulness and mediation: awaken your senses and deepened your bond with the natural world

  • Take a pause from the everyday and immerse yourself in nature. Come as you are, and leave refreshed and inspired.
